David La Chappelle

David La Chappelle (born 1968) is a photographer who tends to create his own visionary world. All his work is very surreal, highly intense, bright and bold. He sets up futuristic sets and uses computer manipulation to create wacky and wonder full pictures. These often include famous celebrities in wildly imaginative or sometimes erotic settings. I think Chappelle’s work is fantastic, each picture i see is better than the one before, and he is definitely one of my favourite photographers.

Arno Rafael Minkkinen

Photographer Arno Rafael Minkkinen was born in Finland, 1945. His black and white photographs show juxtapose bodies and landscapes in surprising and unusual ways. I love the way the body parts fit in with the background; for example the second picture down – with the leg hanging over the boat, it all fits together perfectly. I don’t think these pictures would work as well if they were in colour. All his photographs are very imaginative and he has thought very carefully where to place the body parts etc. A very talented photographer!

Lightmark

Richard Avedon

Richard Avedon born New York City in 1923, is an American portrait photographer. Famous for his minimalism, his portraits were often well lit in front of white backdrops.

Sadly Avedon died October 1st 2004.
